ORGANIZATIONS SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN VIETNAM AND LAOS

Children of Vietnam. Provides care for children with disabilities and other supports for their families.
COPE – Laos. Helps people with mobility-related disabilities move on by supporting access to physical rehabilitation services in the Lao PDR.
Disability Research and Capacity Development. Promotes the full participation of and equal opportunities for people with disabilities (PWD’s) in all spheres of society.
Facing the World. Provides facial reconstructive surgery in Vietnam. Also trains doctors at the Da Nang General Hospital.
Inclusive Development Action. Offers training and support for people with disabilities.
Office of Genetic Counseling and Disabled Children – Hue University. Provides early Intervention, surgeries, medical care and physical therapy for children with disabilities.
Social Assistance Program For Vietnam. Provides surgeries for children and wheelchairs.
Vietnam Assistance to the Handicap. Provides rehabilitation services.
Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange. Provides support and advocates for individuals with illnesses or disabilities believed to be caused by Agent Orange.

Center for Health, Environment and Justice (CHEJ). Founded by Lois Gibbs an activist who helped get families relocated from Love Canal. CHEJ helps communities and families facing toxic threats.
Pesticides Action Network North America. Promotes the elimination of highly hazardous pesticides and herbicides and offers solutions that protect people and the environment.
Titabawasee River Watch. Works with local residents in the Michigan to advocate for clean-up of dioxin contamination down river from the Dow Chemical plant in Midland, MI.

Veterans Affairs list of Veteran Service Organizations.
Children of Vietnam Veterans Health Alliance. A voice for the children of Vietnam Veterans including second and third generation victims of Agent Orange and Dioxin Exposures worldwide
Vietnam Veterans of America. Provides information to Veterans about the benefits they may qualify for if they have been exposed to Agent Orange. Advocates for Veterans issues in Congress.
American Legion. Provides information for Veterans and collaborates with Columbia University on epidemiological research of Veterans exposed to Agent Orange.
Disabled American Veterans. The DAV’s Voluntary Services Program operating a comprehensive network of volunteers who provide veterans free rides to and from VA medical facilities and improve care and morale for sick and disabled veterans.
Quilt of Tears. Promotes the crafting of quilts to draw widespread national attention to the plight of the Vietnam Veterans affected by Agent Orange sprayed on them in Vietnam.
